Travis Tritt is a country music icon. He’s released eleven studio albums (as of 2013) and earned more than half-a-dozen Platinum certifications. He has charted 40 songs on the country charts with five going all the way to the top spot. He’s been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992 and a two-time Grammy Award winner. A tremendous live performer, Travis Tritt tickets have been collected at venues all over the world.
The Georgian-born singer and songwriter has worked with a number of big name artists including Ray Charles, Marty Stuart, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, John Mellencamp, Little Feat, Charlie Daniels, and George Thorogood. Of course, his accomplishments pale in comparison to what he did for rock and roll fans. In 1994, Tritt covered the Eagles’ classic “Take It Easy” for a tribute album. When it came time to make the song’s music video, Tritt requested that the band (from “The Long Run” era) be in the video. Apparently, what Travis Tritt wants Travis Tritt gets because the band said yes! The year after the shoot, and inspired by it, the Eagles surprised rock fans by ending their 14-year “hiatus.” If it wasn’t for Tritt the world may have never experienced an Eagles reunion.
