I Feel Like a Woman!," "That Don't Impress Me Much," and "You're Still the One" are just a few of the hits that helped Shania Twain become the best-selling female artist in the history of country music. Her amazing success and popularity also earned her the honorific “Queen of Pop Country.”
Amazingly, Twain sales achievements came on the strength of just four studio albums. Of course, three of those studio releases each sold more than 10 million copies. Her 1997 offering, Come On Over, sold more than 20 million.
In 2004, Twain stepped away from the music business due to fatigue and vocal problems. Her hiatus was protracted due to the infidelity of her husband.
Twain married music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange in December of 1993. In 2008, the couple separated after Lange had an affair with Marie-Anne Thiébaud. The pain of the betrayal was compounded by the fact that Twain considered Marie Anne her best friend. Twain and Lange divorced in June of 2010. In 2011, Twain married Frédéric Thiébaud, Marie Anne’s ex-husband.
From 2004 to 2014, Twain kept away from the spotlight (relative from what you’d expect from country music’s best-selling female artist of all-time). She released nary a new studio album and issued just a handful of singles.
In 2011, she had her own reality show on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. It aired for six episodes.
In 2012, Twain began a two-year residency show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
In 2014, Twain performed two shows in Calgary, Alberta at the Calgary Stampede.
Twain returned to show business in 2015. She launched her first tour of the United States in 11 years and released her fifth studio album. Her tour was dubbed “Rock This Country” and it collected Shania Twain tickets all over Canada and the United States including New York City, Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, Nashville, Atlanta, and Dallas.
Shania Twain was born “Eilleen Regina Edwards” on Aug. 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario. Her parents divorced when she was two years old. Her mother moved to a remote part of Canada and remarried. Twain’s childhood was plagued by poverty and family violence. To help earn money for her family, Twain began singing at bars when she was just eight year old.
In 1987, her mother and stepfather died in a car accident. Twain returned home to raise her younger siblings. After they grew up and moved out on their own, Twain and her manager procured a recording contract with a major label. Twain’s self-titled debut album dropped in 1993 and it peaked at number 67 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Shania Twain revealed she is in a relationship with her former secretary’s husband, Frederick Thiebaud.
It was announced that Twain and her first husband, Robert Lange were separating after Lange allegedly had an affair with Twain's best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. Their divorce was finalized in 2010. Later that year, Twain's manager said that Twain was engaged to Frédéric Thiébaud (the Swiss former husband of her former best friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud), an executive at Nestlé. They married on January 1, 2011 in Rincón, Puerto Rico.
