What Should I Expect At A Jesse Cook Concert?
Cook isn’t going to play a two-hour set of Top 40 hits and there’s little, if any, singing. Still, Cook and his band usually cover a few popular songs, and they always manage to get their audiences up on their feet and clapping their hands. Who knew flamenco music could be so fun?
A Jesse Cook concert is also an incredible mix of old and new technology. It’s not uncommon for Cook to jam with a duduk (a 1,500-year old instrument) and for him to perform solo with a looper (an electronic machine that records and then plays over and over again that piece of recorded sound). Bottom line, Jesse Cook puts on amazing concert.
The guitarist is very charming and that comes through when he speaks to the audience. Cook frequently banters between songs.

Where Was Jesse Cook Born And Raised?
Cook was born Nov. 28, 1964 in Paris, France. After his parents divorced, he moved to Canada with his mother and sister.
Cook’s talent was evident at a very young age so his mother enrolled him in the Eli Kassner Guitar Academy in Toronto. He also studied the axe at the Royal Conservatory of Music, York University, and Berklee College of Music.
Did Jesse Cook Live Next Store To A Famous Musician?
Not only was talent and hard work on Cook’s side but so was good luck. After his father retired, he moved to Arles, France where his neighbor was, of all people, Nicolas Reyes—front man for the world famous flamenco group The Gipsy Kings. That would be like Keith Richards’ parents living across the street from Chuck Berry.
Cook’s big break came in 1995 when he performed at the Catalina Jazz Festival. Before he could even strum the guitar the audience gave him a ten-minute standing ovation.
Cook grew up playing classical guitar (and we don’t mean Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page). He also studied jazz and flamenco. Cook uses his diverse guitar background to take his music to new and exciting levels.
