Who knows what the band had in mind when they formed in Las Vegas in 2007 and adopted the anagram "Imagine Dragons," but it obviously means something special to them. Damage Groin Sin? Diagram One Sign? Seaman Dig Grion?
Imagine Dragons released their first studio album, Night Visions, on Sept. 4, 2012. The opus was produced by Alex Da Kid, Brandon Darner, and the band. In its first week, the album sold more than 83,000 copies, enough to place them at the number two spot on the Billboard 200. The album was labeled alternative rock but it incorporated elements of folk, hip hop, and pop. Besides the brisk sales, the album received positive reviews from critics who lauded the work for its arena-rock-esque sound.
