Patrick Craven Green, also known as Pat Green, was born April 5, 1972 in San Antonio, Texas. He was raised in Waco. Green attended Texas Tech University where he began gigging in local bars and clubs. He recorded a few independent albums in the mid-1990s with borrowed money but he didn't fully commit to the music biz until 1997.
His big break was playing at Willie Nelson's 4th of July concert in 1998. Green released his first studio album on a major label, Three Days, in 2001. His sophomore effort was 2003's Wave on Wave. The title track to that opus went to number three.
As of 2013, it's Green's highest charting single. His other big hits include "Don't Break My Heart Again," "Baby Doll," "Feels Just Like It Should," and "Let Me." Pat Green tickets are always hot commodities, especially in his home state of Texas. Over the years, he has toured with such renowned artists as Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and Gretchen Wilson. In 2008, Green released a coffee table book about dance halls he had visited while on the road. "Pat Green's Dance Halls & Dreamers" also includes interviews with fellow musicians. Green is a diehard fan of the Texas Rangers.
