What Genre Is Keys N Krates?
Keys N Krates’ sound falls under the umbrella of “electronic dance music.” Of course, their music is much more complex than that.
They are heavily influenced by hip hop. Their music also has characteristics of trap, D&B, and rap (that last genre is taken directly from their Facebook page).
Their sound has changed over the years and is still continuing to evolve. Yet, the band is always aspiring to appeal to the young or at least the young at heart.
As Dawson once said: “We’re constantly trying to channel our 14-year-old selves to make music a 14- or 15-year-old kid is more in touch with than someone in their 30s.”
Obviously, Keys N Krates have a sound all their own. Still, if one has to compare them to other acts those other acts would be Grandtheft, Flosstradamus, Buku, and Bro Safari.
