Not affiliated with any one-armed bandit is the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The Smith Center is found downtown and hosts touring Broadway productions, operas, and orchestra performances. While Sin City is home to just about every type of entertainment you can imagine. One type of entertainment the city lacks is professional sports. Due to the legality of sports betting, the four major sports leagues have avoided placing franchises in Las Vegas. The closest thing the city has is the AAA affiliate of the New York Mets, the Las Vegas 51s. The city will occasionally host a preseason contest or an All-Star game. Organizations like the UFC, professional boxing, PBR, Supercross, Monster Jam, and the WWE frequently hold events in Las Vegas. These events are usually held at one of the aforementioned venues or at Sam Boyd Stadium or the Thomas & Mack Center. Both venues are situated on the campus of UNLV.
