The city received another franchise, the Charlotte Bobcats, in 2004. The team is co-owned by NBA great Michael Jordan and they play their home games at Time Warner Cable Arena which is situated in Center City. Charlotte is represented in the National Football League by the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers began play in 1995 and reached the Super Bowl in 2003 (they lost to the New England Patriots, 32-29). The Panthers home field is Bank of America Stadium located in uptown Charlotte. And don't forget the NHL team Carolina Hurricanes. The aforementioned Time Warner Cable Arena has hosted tour stops by major artists like Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Roger Waters, and The Rolling Stones. The North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center houses several venues most notable of which is the Belk Theater.
