Los Angeles Lakers Prove Their Magic in NBA Finals

I was one of those fans who didn’t even want to see a Los Angeles Lakers-Orlando Magic NBA Finals match-up. Quite frankly, I just don’t think they have what it takes to actually give the Los Angeles Lakers any real competition. And guess what?

I still don’t.

Everybody knows this should have been a Lakers-Cavs championship. LeBron is the only one who would have actually given Kobe any real competition. The Lakers have a 2-0 lead over the Magic and Kobe has continued to be a force to be reckoned with. He scored a decent 29 points and had eight assists, compared to Dwight Howard’s 17 points.

Game 1 was an easy victory for the Lakers, as they stepped on the Orlando Magic ending the game 100-75. Game 2 was a bit harder earned, ending up in overtime with a final score of 101-96. Orlando’s Courtney Lee probably had flat tires when he left the stadium as fans were left pulling their hair out from his missed layup with mere seconds left in the game.

The thing about the Los Angeles Lakers is that they are unleashing more than just Kobe on the Magic. The Lakers also have Pau Gasol. Lamar Odom. Andrew Bynum. All proving to be key players and when you throw Kobe into the mix, Orlando can’t do much. Now that the Series is 2-0, it’s as good as over for Orlando. This so-called “comeback team” will lose at least once in Orlando and there is no way they can take it twice at the Staples Center if the Series returns to L.A.

My whole beef with the LA-Orlando series is that the Lakers only have a rough time with Orlando when they essentially trip over their own feet. Sometimes Orlando seems to show up. But really, this just isn’t a very inspiring series. Not near as exciting as it might have been if it were the dream Kobe-LeBron match-up fans like me were dreaming of. There are analysts out there predicting that you can’t count the Orlando Magic out just yet.

I disagree and think that Los Angeles is on an unstoppable path to victory. They have the star power, experience and sheer will to trounce Orlando in this series and it is my prediction they will do just that.
