Bruce Springsteen Announces Fall Stadium Tour
Legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen recently announced plans for a stadium tour of North America that will start in mid-August and last about a month.
The string of ten dates will kick off Aug. 18 with a Bruce Springsteen concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The final dates on the itinerary are three Bruce Springsteen shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sept. 19, 21, and 22.
One of the highlights of Springsteen’s upcoming eight-city trek is a concert at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Sept. 7. The show has been in the works for months and finally, to the delight of his fans in the Windy City, has been confirmed.
The venues on The Boss’s route are fairly massive. Below, we’ve listed each of the places slated to host Bruce Springsteen and their capacity. While just an estimate, in the upcoming ten concerts alone, Bruce could play for 635,000 fans.
Some of the capacity figures are rough guesses. For example, we pulled the number for Vernon Downs Raceway, located in the middle of New York State, out of our “you-know-whats.” The figure used for Magnetic Hill in Moncton, Canada is that venue’s all-time largest crowd. In 2005, nearly 90,000 turned out to see the Rolling Stones perform as part of their “A Bigger Bang Tour.”
Other top-tier artists have performed at Magnetic Hill but drew considerably smaller crowds. For example, in 2009 Bon Jovi played to just 33,000 fans.
We are also assuming that all venues will sell all of their Bruce Springsteen tickets (we wrote that with tongue firmly planted in cheek). Bottom line, even if our guesses are way off the mark, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will still perform to more than half a million people… in five weeks.

Currently, Springsteen is wrapping up the first North American leg of his “Wrecking Ball Tour.” The jaunt began March 18 in Atlanta, Georgia and will end May 2 in Newark, New Jersey. He’ll then travel to Europe for an outing that spans from mid-May through the last day of July.
The tour is named after Springsteen’s 17th studio album and his tenth to go to number one. Wrecking Ball dropped March 5 and was produced by the artist and Ron Aniello.
